The Flying Fox Home PageBecause he labors under a mystic curse that sometimes makes him female and sometimes makes him male, the fabulous Flying Fox is actually two fascinating characters in one. In his male form, he's the harebrained Freddy Goldman, a lunatic costumed villain who hatches one bizarre scheme after another in a compulsive effort to gain fame and notoriety. But in her female form, she's the vivacious Raven Gold, an honest-to-goodness costumed heroine who gets her kicks using her special talents to thwart the bad guys. In either form, the Flying Fox is surpringly strong, remarkably fast, quick-witted, durable, and has the power of flight. But between her two forms there are also some differences. In her female form, the Flying Fox doesn't normally remember that she has a male identity. Whenever she makes the change, the curse instantly blanks out all conscious knowledge of her other self, and it can take months for those repressed memories to resurface. As Raven Gold, she thinks of herself as an attractive young woman who has a wonderful singing voice and an extraordinary ability to attract the attention of men. In his male form, the Flying Fox is fully aware that he sometimes changes into a girl, and is looking very hard for a permanent cure. As Freddy Goldman, the Flying Fox is an engineering genius who loves to cobble together all kinds of gimmicks and tricks to aid him in the commission of elaborate crimes. His biggest fear is that the next time he changes into a girl, he'll be trapped that way forever. There have been several published adventures featuring the male Flying Fox. A few stories featuring the female version of the character were prepared but never published. It's our hope that we will soon have summaries of all existing Flying Fox adventures here on the Heroic Website. In the meantime, please enjoy the selection of stories available now.
